Solving engineering problems, and assessing cutting edge technology

Catalytic is a consultancy founded by Bruce Lin with experience in product development, system engineering, and technology analysis.

We can help you with your R&D or product development, using our extensive experience in energy storage and electrochemistry ranging from developing a 250 kW grid-tied energy storage plant (redox flow battery), to designing a 25W laptop methanol-powered “range extender”. See Projects for previous products and solutions.

We are based in California but have done projects around the world. Some of the work we do:

System design and creative solutions to product problems. We make smart tradeoffs between cost, performance, and reliability. We know how to integrate mechanical design, chemistry, electrical engineering, and controls/software.

Perform technnical due diligence studies and assessments for investors. Review competitor technology, and deliver in-depth SWOT analysis of their products. Perform peer reviews for the Department of Energy.

Participate in or lead design reviews, FMEAs, and HAZOPs to ensure your product is safe and successful.

We can deliver complex projects with our network of affiliates in various specialist areas: IP consulting, expert CFD and FEA analysis, industrial and product design, PCB design, CAD.
